My LGN365 Review

Here’s the deal.  JC Deen sent me a copy of his new program, LGN365.  After a few weeks of completely taking it in, it really inspired me to write a review of this product.  Here it is.

The way this review works is simple.  I’m using a “Sean Hyson Book Review Template” and I’ll give you an introduction to the program, tell you a bit about JC Deen, tell you how to do it, give you what I like about the program, what the program needs to consider, and then tell you about my personal experience with it.  In the words of Wilmer Valderama, “let’s bully!”

Introduction

LGN365 – Look Great Naked: A Complete Body Re-composition Course is all about teaching you how to get into the best shape of your life.  It’s designed to take beginner lifters to intermediates, and intermediates to advanced, and teaches you everything you need to know about losing fat, building muscle, nutrition, exercise, and pretty much everything it takes to reach a fitness goal.

About the Author

LGN365JC Deen is one cool dude.  He’s a strength coach, trainer, and fitness consultant from Nashville (I hope he doesn’t like country music).  He’s been published on livestrong.com, bodybuilding.com, the Alan Aragon Research Review, zenhabits.net and AusFit Pro Magazine, and a bunch of other sweet fitness websites.  He’s also jacked.

If you live in Toronto, I have a feeling that JC will be here the weekend of October 6th for Jon Goodman’s seminar.  He’s not presenting, he’s just there for good looks.  So be it.

How to Do LGN365

To start off, you read the “Getting Started Manual”.  Here, JC teaches you how to figure out what your goal is (your ideal body fat percentage).  Here, he gives some sweet pictures showing what each body fat percentage looks like.  From there, you’ll learn everything you need to know about strength training, nutrition, and caloric needs.

If Your Goal is Muscle Gain…

…Then it’s time to read the hypertrophy manual.  Here, you’ll learn everything you need to know about putting on strength and size.

For strength, JC recommends Reverse Pyramid Training (RPT).  Here, you will start with a heavy weight in your desired rep range.  For example, if you are using RPT in the 8-12 rep range, you will pick a 9-13RM weight, and lift it for 8-12 reps (leave 1 rep in the tank of your max weight).  After resting, you will lower the weight by 5-10% and lift it for as many reps as possible, but leave 1 rep in the tank.  Do this 1 more time.

For size, JC loves rest pause training.  If you’ve ever heard of Doggcrapp training, then you know how brutal this can be (and effective).  Pick a weight you can lift for 10-12 reps and do as many reps as possible, but leave 1-2 reps in the tank.  Rest 30 seconds and repeat.  Keep doing this until you’ve finished the desired rep range.

Along with these workouts, you need to use the HD videos to learn proper exercise technique, and use the muscle gain calculator software so you know exactly how much carbs, protein, and fat you should be eating.

If your goal is fat loss…

…Then the fat loss manual will be your bible.  Basically, the fat loss manual is similar to the muscle gain manual, but instead of more traditional body part and upper lower splits, they are all full body workouts and split via pushing and pulling.  Workouts are more strength based as well.  In addition to the workouts, JC recommends more traditional cardio over HIIT.  His reason is that you will burn out doing HIIT and 3 heavy, full body workouts per week in a caloric deficit.

What I Like About LGN365

Besides the great content, the best part of LGN365 is the overall attention to quality of the product.  JC teamed up with Blakkbox Design Studio to help design his eBooks and graphics.  Each eBook looks fantastic and it isn’t like most products out there in this regard.  It’s visually stunning, and the content rocks.

Also, you can’t go wrong with the HD video library.  I talked to JC, and he said he spent a day in the gym filming these exercises, and a few extra hours dubbing in his voice over the video with descriptions.  Well done, my friend.

Lastly, the macronutrient calculators are stellar.  All you need to do is input your weight, body fat percentage, gender, and activity level, and it tells you how many grams of carbs, fat, and protein to eat on training days and non-training days to reach your goals.  They are fool proof.

What JC Needs to Consider

The only problem I found with the program is that it is a little hard to take in at first.  Since there is so much content, you have no idea what to read first.  I think the program truly would be complete if JC gave a roadmap or checklist of what to do in order to not get confused.

For example, he should say: read the getting started guide, and then move on to either the fat loss manual or hypertrophy manual.  Only read up to where he first introduces the programs.  Then, read the training manual so you know how to read the workout programs, then go back to the fat loss or hypertrophy manual and pick the appropriate program for you to get started.  Then bust out the HD videos so you know how to perform your exercises correctly.  Somewhere in there, you need to figure out how much food to eat via the macronutrient calculators.

See?  It gets a bit confusing.

Also, I think it would make more sense if some of the explanations of the training methods (RPT, Rest pause) were given at the start of the hypertrophy and fat loss manuals instead of solely being the in the training manual.  Others may disagree with this, but to each as own.

My Personal Experience

While I’ve used rest pause before, I haven’t used a ton of RPT in my day.  This is something that will change as JC is in love with it, and for a good reason.

Also, I’m going to start using the macronutrient calculators.  This software kicks ass and is super simple to use.  It’s definitely something that I can easily incorporate into my lifestyle.

My Recommendations

I think that LGN365 is an awesome program that many people can benefit from, and I highly recommend it.  You can buy it by clicking here (this is an affiliate link, and if you choose to purchase LGN365, then I will be paid a commission.  This is how I make money in order to keep my blog up on the internet and keep writing great content for you.  If LGN365 isn’t a great fit for you, then don’t buy it.  I’m cool with either.)
